What is an Advocacy Center?
A Children's Advocacy Center is a child-friendly facility that offers a nurturing, supportive environment for child victims of sexual abuse and their families. The mission is to minimize any additional trauma to a child through coordination of a variety of important services at one location to meet the needs of the child. This reminds possible through collaborative efforts of various progressional who intervene when a child discloses abuse. The goal is to promote justice and healing.
