Family/Victim Advocacy Center
Gateway Children’s Advocacy Center’s Family and Victim Advocates serve as the initial point of contact for children and families who are referred to the center for services. Advocates meet in person with the child and their caregivers at the time of their appointments, to provide the support they need to take care of their child, their family, and themselves.
Advocates are available to provide crisis counseling, supportive listening, ongoing case management, follow-up care, information about additional GCAC services and/or outside referrals based on the needs of each family, as well as education about the investigative process and legal system. Advocates work as a liaison between families and law enforcement, and social services.
Advocates will be available all throughout a child and families time with Gateway Children’s Advocacy Center and then after if needed.
